Adriana began her career in permanent makeup in Brazil, a country with one of the largest and most demanding PMU markets in the world, where the craft is treated as a full profession rather than an add-on service. She spent years there building volume and range across skin tones and brow types that most artists never encounter, and trained in techniques that reached the United States considerably later.

She brought that work to Massachusetts and opened Adriana’s Permanent Makeup in 2017. What followed, two studios, an academy in Peabody, more than 5,000 procedures and over 300 students trained, was built on a foundation that already existed. In total she has more than 20 years in the industry.

That background is the reason for two things clients notice. The first is color work on deeper and warmer skin tones, including dark lip neutralization, which is routine in Brazil and still specialized here. The second is that Adriana and the team consult in both English and Portuguese, so a client can describe exactly what she wants in her own language, which matters more than it sounds when the result is on her face for years.

How Did Adriana’s Grow From One Studio Into Two States?

Adriana’s Permanent Makeup opened as a single studio in Massachusetts in 2017. Since then it has grown into two client-facing studios, Wilmington, MA and Salem, NH, plus a dedicated training academy in Peabody, MA that operates separately from both and serves students only.

The Wilmington studio came first: a private suite at 211 Lowell Street, Suite F, on Massachusetts Route 129. Demand from New Hampshire clients led to the Salem studio, at 117A Main Street on New Hampshire Route 97 in Salem Depot, which has several curtained treatment stations rather than one private room.

Growth also moved into training. Adriana’s Academy, at 39 Cross Street, Suite 206 in Peabody, MA, has certified more than 300 students to date, entirely separate from either client studio.

What Happens During a Consultation With Adriana?

Every appointment opens with a consultation before any pigment is placed. Adriana assesses skin type, discusses the client’s goals, and maps a proposed shape or color directly on the client’s skin for approval, in either English or Portuguese depending on the client’s preference.

A client describes the result she wants in her own words rather than through a translated approximation, which matters when the outcome stays on her face for one to three years. A Portuguese-speaking client can specify a lip color or a brow shape precisely, without losing nuance in translation.
